Handicrafts have been a part of life since childhood. I like weaving, knitting, crochet, sewing and everything that is related to fibres and fabrics. I tried dyeing my own fabric, but I had to realise that I prefer commercial fabrics, with their colours and patterns that other people designed. I also like to incorporate old, sometimes faded textiles. It is interesting to see how the colour of a fabric changes through the use of threads of different colours. I combine the narrow strips of fabric with decorative machine stitches. I plan my quilts, but the final product is always different. I do not mind this, because sewing gives me pleasure, and I hope that my quilts make the audiences stop to watch them more closely.
